With the LX Series, we've taken four of our most popular models - the Elite, Legend, Standard Elite and Standard Balladeer - and given them the full upgrade treatment. They're lighter, louder, richer and fuller - all the things you want your guitar to be.
Designed in collaboration with Al DiMeola and Melissa Etheridge, the new OP-PRO combines state-of-the-art audio quality with guitarist-friendly features for a preamp that should please even the most discriminating player.
The smooth, hard composite Lyrachord GS body improves projection and reflects top vibrations better than traditional material and is now even stronger and lighter. The LX features a scalloped bracing pattern that evenly supports the top to provide the ultimate in acoustic output. The exotic wood leaf-shaped "epaulets" are now inlaid into the top with laser precision.

The solid A-grade spruce top is braced with a new scalloped X pattern for a fuller, more wide-open sound. The rosewood fingerboard now adorns a lightweight, gloss-finished, 5-piece advanced neck with dual-action truss rod to control both bow and warp, plus graphite neck stabilizers over the joint and a dual-clamp heel block. The original 1968 Ovation pickup has been re-created and is powered by a new version of the warm vintage OP24 preamp, the OP Pro. The Lyrachord GS bowl is 33% lighter than previous backs.
